http://www.denvercrossroads.com/
The “Blue Vagabond” Opens at Crossroads Theater at Five Points
Urban legend of a vagabond poet searching for the lost purpose in his life,
a story appropriate for our time and for all time.
DENVER, Mar. 24, 2009—What happens when you cross paths with The Blue Vagabond on the steets of Denver? He is homeless and pushes a cart full of stuff, some of it for sale. But his most important possession is his words, he is a poet and sees with big eyes. If you listen to his stories, you can receive his gift.
The story of the Blue Vagabond is a lyric metaphor of every person’s desire and search for meaning in their life, portrayed though the life of a homeless vagabond poet who has lost his way. In these days of lost jobs and failed interviews, the Blue Vagabond reveals how close each one of us is to the Vagabond pushing his cart. In the Denver Post review of the 2004 production, Bob Bows said the Blue Vagabond is, “as compelling an evening of theater as you will find anywhere.”
The Blue Vagabond opens Friday, April 10, 2009. Jeff Campbell, a.k.a. A.P.O.S.T.L.E., plays the Blue Vagabond. Miranda LeQuire plays the other characters of the world of the Blue Vagabond. Kurt Lewis directs, and is also the playwright. The musical score was written by Mike Crom.

“360″ Music Deals Become Mandatory As Labels Prepare For Free Music
360 Music deals
give labels their standard cut of CD and digital download sales, but also give them a percentage of event ticket profits, merchandise sales, endorsement deals and anything else that uses the artist’s brand or music.
A year ago they were still seen as controversial
and experimental
. Labels defended them as justification for investing in an artist in a time of decreasing CD sales.
Today, though, those deals are becoming mandatory. Warner Music Group CEO Edgar Bronfman
told the Web 2.0 Summit audience that his label now requires all new artists to sign 360 Deals, and that about a third of their signed artists are under those contracts.
Bronfman argued to a hostile crowd that it doesn’t make sense for labels to pour money into artist development when CD sales, their primary source of revenue, continue to decline (although he did say that digital sales now make up 20% of their revenue). Without other ways to make money from an artist, he said, they wouldn’t continue to promote artists.
Bronfman also said that 360 deals give labels the ability to give away music for promotional purposes to spur event and merchandise sales.
And that, for me, is the key. Bronfman, an outsider to the music world until recently, sees the writing on the wall - music downloads will eventually be free, and will serve as little more than marketing collateral to other revenue streams.
360 deals give labels a place in the new music economy, and there’s nothing wrong with their attempt to keep their businesses alive over the long run. Artists can choose to go with them or not, depending on their own opinion of the benefits. If labels really can bring enough marketing and promotional benefits to the table, artists will take those deals. They may be slaves to the labels, but they have a chance (albeit a very small one) of becoming rich slaves, at least.

Soul P “Back At It Again”
Soul P "Back At It Again"
Soul music has been an integral part of pop culture since the very first record hit the turntable. From Elvis Presley to Jay-Z, everybody needs a bit of flavor to be successful. These days, it goes unsaid that there is a constant stream of new hip-hop and R&B artists trying to make their voices heard. And the more soul you have, the better the chance that you'll get noticed.
Portland is fast becoming a leader in the hip-hop movement, and Soul P. is one of the best emcees that Portland has to offer. This man is destined to change the way you view the art form of hip-hop. Born and raised in Seattle, Soul P. has been through the struggle and is ready to share his musical vision with the world. Growing up in The Yesler Terrace neighborhood, Soul P. came face-to-face with the harsh realities of the streets at an early age. Even though he was surrounded by crack cocaine and gang warfare, Soul P. persevered. These early experiences influence his music, giving Soul P.'s lyrics and rhyming an authentic flavor that is rarely found in today's sea of commercialism.
Soul P. is an emcee with an extremely solid resume. He began his solo career by independently releasing two critically acclaimed albums, Simpy Soul and The Soul Affect. Both albums are noted for their gritty street-influenced production and meaningful lyrical content. These records established Soul P. as a serious contender in the underground music scene. With his explosive combination of intelligence and strength, Soul's independent material gave him a solid platform on which to build his music.
In the summer of 2005, Soul P. took the opportunity to record the street banger "5 Fingers" for a prominent underground mixtape series helmed by DJ Morphiziz. This project led to a close working relationship with Beatmart Recordings, a young Nashville-based hip-hop collective. Soul P. continued to build and work with Beatmart Recordings and over the following months and talks eventually led to an official record deal. As soon as material was ready, Soul P. and Beatmart released Soul's label debut, The Premiere.
The Premiere gave us a look into both sides of Soul P.'s persona. Soul is without a doubt a hip-hop afficianado with his roots on the streets. On the other hand, this man keeps a deep personal faith in God. In his own words, Soul P. explains. "My relationship with God is one of the main messages that I wanted to get across with The Premiere. I want people to understand that after everything I've been through, that album was like my movie premiere. Up to that point I had been through so much and dealt with so much garbage. Now I'm here to give a message of hope to those who've dealt with their own struggles. I can equate this to Allen Iverson finally getting the chance to play pro ball. To those who are going through something, keep believing 'cause you will have a premiere."
The following year, Soul P. and Beatmart parted ways on friendly terms. Once again looking for a label home, Soul P. tried searching in his own neck of the woods. His relentless work ethic and intense flavor grabbed the attention of Liquid Assets Recordz, a local Portland label with a taste for street appeal. Within months of inking a deal with Liquid Assets, Soul P. was hard at work on a mixtape, once again grinding it out in the studio. During this time, Soul also started his own music group called King's Empire.
After focusing on his faith with The Premiere, Soul P. is ready to focus on his hip-hop. His work with Liquid Assets has already spawned a number of solid west coast jams, including "West Coast Blues" and "Money Money Money." His lyrics cut to the chase; Soul P. is not an emcee who pulls any punches. Over pounding rhythms, Soul waxes poetic about life on the streets of the Northwest. You won't find any sugercoated hip-hop around here. As listeners clamor for more, Soul P. and Liquid Assets are already preparing Soul's debut for the Liquid Assets Empire.
In the vein of any good leader, Soul P. is equipped with a battle plan. He is convinced that he has to hit the market where it's at. "I hope that the market will continue to open up their eyes to hip-hop," Soul P. comments. "There is a huge need for creativity in the genre right now. I want to help change the idea of how it should be done. Liquid Assets and I are here to make hot, hot music. I want the world to know that you can't put hip-hop into one little box."
How do you represent a dynamic individual like Soul P. with just words? Forget the outside hype and let him talk for himself: "I've been through a lot," declares Soul P. "Now I've got to go for the top. Liquid Assets and I are going to work hard together and reach our ultimate goals. It's going to be tight.

The Golden Science of Life and the “Mathematics of Love”
Article
The Golden Science of Life and the "Mathematics of Love"
Short Article by:
Chad Ashley Vandenberg
It is interesting to note that an early but growing body of evidence seems to suggests that at the very same moment that we feel, emotionally, a wave of love, all of the body's bio-rhythms move into one harmonious rhythm that relates to itself according to the mathematics of infinity. The brain-waves, breath, cranial sacral pulse, heartbeat, and heart wave harmonics form patterns during peak experiences based on the same mathematics that result in fractal imagery when you put it into a computer.
Any emotional sensation that feels like your heart has wings, allows the brain-waves, breath, cranial sacral pulse and heartbeat, and heart wave harmonics to form an intricate pattern that allows each ofthe bio-rhythm frequencies to add and multiply their harmonic scales to a "zero- point" of infinite frequency. Some researchers claim that when the harmonic frequencies generated by the pressure waves of the heartbeat demonstrate this fractal geometry, then the waves synergize and "phase-lock" with the cranial sacral pulse which then "pumps" the brainstem, causing the amygdala to secrete potent neuro-chemistries into the high brain neo-cortex as food for the pineal gland which the Egyptians called the "seat of the soul". Another way of saying that when the head and heart are in harmony, our heart spreads wings and we are free!! Emerging research into the nature of consciousness reveals that the feeling of love produces a mathematic relationship between all the frequencies of the body's biorhythm's that allows them to "co-here", (occupying the same space and time) without interference or friction. The mathematic relationship that allows this seemingly impossibility is called phi. Phi is a relationship between parts that allows the parts to "share the same space" and "go to the zero-point" like only lovers can. Everywhere love is present it leaves a "fingerprint" that can be measured in terms of "phi". This fingerprint of love can be found in the mathematics of galaxies, ancient pyramids, plants, nautilus shells, and every aspect of our own physical bodies. Since the days of the first mathematicians and philosophers in ancient times, this ratio has been referred to as the "golden ratio" or the "Golden Mean" by Pythagoras. This ratio, present at the moment of experiencing Love, is the same ratio that allows the mathematics of infinity to be expressed in physical form. This amazing ratio is called the "golden ratio" because gold is the element that perfectly expresses the fractal nature that all life uses to create a form capable of holding self-awareness.
Golden Dreams
Golden Dreams
Is it possible that the atomic frequency patterns created by the orbiting electrons of certain elements can entrain the brain to harmonic rhythms correlated clinically with increased dream lucidity?
Is it possible that certain elements play a crucial role in the bodies ability to produce neuro-peptide brain chemistries associated with greater cognition and awareness for both the waking state and the dreaming mind as well?
These are important questions given that as humans we spend a great deal of our life sleeping and dreaming. Eating for peak athletic performance is common among those in competitive sports. Eating or supplementing for peak mental performance, cognition and clarity is now a strong component of some of the most powerful eating trends of our modern era including the living food and superfood movements that we see are quickly becoming revolutions in alternative health circles.
Those who value their dreams and the dreaming mind are discovering that it is also possible to use their understanding of nutrition to spice up their dream life with more lucidity than ever before. We all have the capacity for lucid dreaming, lucid living, and expanded states of consciousness. Often though, the achievement of theses states is a challenge for the biology of the practitioner. A demineralized body might require 20 years meditating in silence in a dark cave to have an enlightenment experience while still embodied. It's like a minnow swimming up stream. It can be done but it takes more time effort and energy expenditure. A fully mineralized and detoxified body though, is like a crystal tuner and able to receive and transmit on a full bandwidth of frequencies provided by the presence of all the elemental building blocks that we call minerals. This theory is supported scientifically at the biological level when we see that every emotion and very state of mind correlates precisely with a specific neuro-bio-chemistry profile.
These neuro-peptides and the endocrine glands that produce them all depend extensively on specific mineral and elemental building blocks being present. According to the geological record many of these of these minerals have been missing or depleted from the soil systems for thousands of years.
One of the rarest of these elements that can positively affect our brains capacity for increased cognition and lucidity weather dreaming or awake, is gold. That's right good old fashion GOLD …the stuff they used to make coins out of! Gold has been used by many cultures from around the world in an edible form since the beginning of recorded history! The ancient Egyptian, Chinese and Aurvedic herbal traditions have been using gold for increased mental emotional clarity and increased dream lucidity for over 4000 years! Ancient "alchemists" used certain dietary practices including the use of gold tonics for physical rejuvenation and inner transformation. They spoke of transmuting lead into gold. Most researchers agree "lead" and "gold" referred to mental and emotional states of being. These cultures used the elements to "tune the mind and body" to the qualities of the elements. The Element of gold was considered to posses the qualities of the sun, the light of consciousness, awakeness, mental clarity and full spectrum emotional balance. Philosophers of Greece, Egypt and India used gold the way a piano tuner uses a tuning fork. Just as a tuning fork has a characteristic tone that defines it, likewise, each element was thought to have its own sub-atomic tone or frequency (produced by the orbiting electrons around the nucleus of an atom). Many now believe that this characteristic sub-atomic tone can have a very noticeable effect on mood and attitude, just like the tones of music, can uplift or make sad, or even move you to dance. The tone or vibration of 24 karat Gold is reputed to increase light hearted-ness, mental clarity and an optimistic attitude. We make no claims but we have been using it ourselves for years... and Love it! Although gold does not yet have an FDA established recommended daily allowance, a growing body of research indicates that gold may indeed play a significant role as an element supporting a broad spectrum of mental and physical processes. One scientific theory is that gold increases the efficiency of the nervous system by creating conductive pathways in the fluid between the cells so your brains electrical signals can be transmitted with less resistance. This theory may be proven or disproven with future research. We do know however, that the body needs a full-spectrum of trace elements and nutrients to experience the true human potential for mental clarity, physical energy, and emotional well-being. Mineral depletion of the soil is prevalent and humans now have far less of many of the rare trace elements once found in the food chain. What will effect will bio-available gold have on you? That depends on your current state of mineralization and personal bio-chemistry. Many have confirmed that within days or weeks of cell saturation dreams do indeed become brighter, more vivid and more memorable. Some have claimed ability to lucid dream for the first time ever and generally more productive and valuable dream experiences, as well as a wide range of emotional and cognitive enhancing benefits to the waking state.
